Betty Frequently Asked Questions

1.) Why is betty safer than regular hair dyes?
Our safe no-drip creme formula ensures when used correctly, betty color won't run into your sensitive area. Regular hair dye is much too harsh to use on the hair down there. Betty does NOT contain MEA or ammonia, making betty safe!

Remember to follow instructions and apply to Safe Zone only. The Safe Zone is the area that forms a triangle starting at the pubic bone and extending upwards along the bikini line to the top of the hair down there. As with all hair color, we recommend doing a skin/allergy test 48 hours prior to using this product.

2.) How often should I use this product?
Betty can be used frequently. Most women and men color their hair down there when they color their head hair, usually every 4 weeks. Follow the directions to reapply leftover betty color if you need a boost.

3.) How many applications in each kit?
Each betty kit has 1-2+ applications (depending on how much betty there is!)

4.) What if I want to change back to my original color?
No problem. Just use a betty kit that best matches your original color (AUBURN betty, BROWN betty, BLACK betty, or BLONDE betty)

5.) What if the color stains my skin?
Betty color can be easily removed from the skin with a soapy washcloth. Before coloring, apply petroleum jelly around the outside of the hair line to help prevent staining.

6.) Will the color rub off?
No. Even perspiration and physical activity will not affect betty color.

7.) Can anyone use betty?
Yes, betty works well on all hair types. No matter how dark or coarse the hair, betty will color all types of hair.

8.) Do I need to bleach my hair before I use betty?
Yes, AUBURN betty, BLONDE betty, FUN betty (hot pink), MALIBU betty (aqua blue), LOVE betty (red), LUCKY betty (green), SEXY betty (lilac) and SUN-BURST betty (orange) are a two-step process. First you "lift" or lighten your natural color by using the extra gentle lightening creme and developer. After lifting your natural color, you then apply the betty color. Betty color kits include everything you need to lighten and color. Betty works on even the darkest of hair! BLACK betty and BROWN betty are a one-step process and do not include a lightening step.

9.) Can men use it, too?
Many men want to cover grays down there too. Men love betty and how safe it is. They can also use betty on their beard and chest hair.

10.) Can I use betty when I am pregnant?
While we do not recommend using any hair color in your first trimester of pregnancy, many women use FUN betty to add a "surprise" to the delivery!

11.) Can I mix colors?
Yes, colors can be mixed to achieve different shades.

12.) Can I save the leftover color?
Once you mix the color with the developer you cannot save the leftover mixture. You can however save the remaining color, lightening creme and developer that has not been mixed together. Betty has a shelf life of over two years.
